In the U.K., parking charges are based on the carbon dioxide emissions (or engine capacity) and fuel type of your vehicle.  Charges are lowest for EV and less polluting vehicles, increasing progressively for more polluting vehicles. (please see the attached picture).

Even more, in February this year Paris announced that if you drive a SUV (Sports Utility Vehicle), it will cost you Euro 225 (nearly 192 pounds or HK$2,000) for six hours! (please see the attached news clipping).
